资源简介:
The Pacific spiny dogfish (Squalus suckleyi) is a common species of the Squalidae (dogfish) family of sharks and are among the most abundant species of sharks in the world. They have a slow reproduction rate compared to other sharks, with their gestation period being roughly around two years. This makes them more vulnerable to threats since they take longer to reproduce (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a female individual found in Blaine, Washington, was procured by Sabrina Haney and Michael Phelps to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
