The net-winged beetles (Coleoptera: Lycidae) are a diversified elateroid family known for aposematic colouration and the presence of lineages with neotenic fully-larviform females. Despite being used as a model group for evolutionary and phylogeographic studies, their deep phylogeny have remained contentious due to the difficult homologation of morphological traits and ambiguous molecular phylogenetic signal.
