This study conducted a large-scale excavation of activated sludge microbiome by reconstructing 24,534 metagenome-assembled genomes from 828 WWTP metagenomes and developed a comprehensive global WWTP activate sludge microbe catalog (GWSAMC) and gene catalog (GWASGC), showing distinctive core genus hyper-dominant patterns and slight biogeographical correlations of the global activated sludge microbial community.
