The effect of exosomes on ovarian cancer cells with regard to gene expression

In order to know whether fibroblast-derived exosomes affect cancer cell behavior, we sprinkledtreated those onto CaOV3 and OVCAR3, and analyzed those effects using gene expression microarrays. The gene expression of ovarian cancer cells sprinkled with exosomes were compared with counterparts of those without being exposed to exosomes. In the pathways related to cancer growth which could be analyzed, there were no significant differences between them. The gene expression of cancer cells was measured at 24 hours after exposure to exosomes isolated from the supernatant fluids of fibroblast cultures. It was compared to the the gene expression of cancer cells without exposure to exosomes.
