资源简介:
Relugolix is a once-daily oral gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2020 for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Relugolix is commonly co-prescribed with complementary oncologic therapies or agents targeting associated comorbidities (e.g. cardiovascular disease). In this podcast, we review studies which evaluate relugolix with concomitant next-generation hormonal therapies (abiraterone, apalutamide, and enzalutamide), chemotherapy (docetaxel), radiotherapy, and common cardiovascular medications (antihypertensives, antithrombotics, and lipid‑lowering agents). Based on these studies, these therapies do not appear to affect relugolix efficacy and no new safety concerns were reported. Relugolix is a medicine that lowers a hormone in the body called testosterone. In 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved relugolix as a medicine for patients with advanced prostate cancer. Relugolix is often taken with other cancer medicines or medicines that treat other conditions that patients with prostate cancer may have. This podcast covers studies which look at relugolix taken with other treatments: testosterone-lowering medicines (abiraterone, apalutamide, and enzalutamide), powerful chemicals that kill fast-growing cells such as cancer cells, radiation therapy, and common medicines for heart conditions. Based on these studies, relugolix combined with these medicines works well and is not linked to any new side effects. A PDF version of this infographic is available as supplemental material.
