All SHALDRIL I and II cores were subsampled using the syringe method obtaining approximately 5 cc of sediment every 5 - 10 cm downcore. Sediment was subsequently weighed wet, dried for 24 hrs at 105 degrees, and weighed dried. From these weights density, porosity, water content and void ratio were determined using the ODP protocals.
