Archbold Biological Station Weather Data at Main Weather Station, Lake Placid, FL, USA, 1969 - present

Long term data set of recorded observations from main weather station begun in 1932. This station measures daily, at 8AM, the following observations - precipitation, temperature, relative humidity, evaporation, soil temperatures, barometric pressure, solar radiation, wind movement, wind direction and wind speed. The daily weather is collected and recorded for use by the researchers at the station. The observations are also called in to the National Weather Service, mailed to SWFWMD, faxed to AccuWeather (Sebring News-Sun) and the Lake Placid Journal. Off and on other organizations (County, state, agricultural, environmental) call or request the weather data. Daily weather observations are collected and recorded for use by researchers and others. The following measurements are recorded at 8 AM, precipitation for past 24 hrs., maximum, minimum and at observation temperatures for the last 24 hrs, maximum, minimum and at observation soil temperatures, maximum and minimum relative humidity, barometric pressure at observation, wind movement at 2m and 19 inches, evaporation for the last 24 hrs, solar radiation for last 24 hrs., and wind speed and direction recorded digitally on data logger.
