Genome sequencing of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli that carry rare enterohemolysin (ehxA) subtypes. No sequencing data is available for these strains and they have been shown to carry unique plasmids, encoding a variety of virulence-associated traits distinct from any other E. coli plasmid sequenced today. This suggests that the chromosomes of these strains might demonstrate the same genetic diversity.
