Provided a maize gene ZmRAVL1 and a functional site of 240 bp by fine-mapping and uses of controlling leaf angle phenotypes thereof. Also provided favorable alleles by gene-editing technology which provides a new idea for obtaining elite alleles available in the breeding practice. Superior inbred lines with the aid of the molecular marker-assisted selection technology can be quickly and accurately improved or produced， which provides the possibility of wide application of elite alleles.
