THE DATA SHOULD NOT BE USED WITHOUT INDEPENDENT VALIDATION IN YOUR AREA OF INTEREST. <br> <br> This repository contains annual mean data from a specialized version of the "Live Ocean" Regional Ocean Modelling System (ROMS) model adapted for the entire west coast of Canada using specific forcing sources to generate 2km resolution hindcasts of oceanographic variables from 1993 to 2022. LiveOcean (LO), a research initiative by the University of Washington Coastal Modelling group, utilizes ROMS to conduct detailed, realistic simulations of the U.S. West Coast. The LO code is publicly available on GitHub (https://github.com/parkermac/LO) and further details on the model can be found within MacCready et al., 2021 (https://doi.org/10.1029/2020JC016738). LO simulates a wide range of oceanographic parameters at hourly intervals including currents, salinity, temperature, acidification, and concentrations of key chemicals like nitrate, oxygen, and carbon. It also models biological fields, such as phytoplankton, zooplankton and organic particles. Information on each output variable is included within the Data_Dictionary.pdf. <br> <br> The model grid, with its 2 km horizontal resolution, is vertically structured with 30 layers extending from the sea surface to the seafloor. The vertical grid is uneven and dynamic, varying over both space and time.
