Retrospective screening for human Borna disease virus 1 (BoDV-1) infections in Austria

For a retrospective screening for human Borna disease virus 1 (BoDV-1) infections, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum samples from the biobank of the Center for Virology in Vienna were selected based on neurological symptoms. RT-qPCR and serological assays (ELISA, iIFA) were performed. BoDV-1 RNA or confirmed anti-BoDV-1 IgG antibodies were not detected in any of the CSF or serum samples, respectively.为开展人类博尔纳病病毒1型（Borna disease virus 1, BoDV-1）感染的回顾性筛查，本研究基于神经系统症状，从维也纳病毒学中心生物样本库中选取了脑脊液（cerebrospinal fluid, CSF）与血清样本。随后对样本实施了逆转录实时定量聚合酶链反应（RT-qPCR）及血清学检测，包括酶联免疫吸附试验（ELISA）与间接免疫荧光试验（iIFA）。结果显示，所有脑脊液样本中均未检测到博尔纳病病毒1型RNA，所有血清样本中均未检测到确诊的抗博尔纳病病毒1型IgG抗体。
