资源简介:
This Register for City Railway Plans consists of hand written entries recording the following information for each plan: a plan number, the relevant alpha-numeric section for a particular group of plans, a description and title of the plan, and initials of the drafter of the plan. Some of the entries have been annotated with alterations, and corrections to plan numbers.City Railway plans which were created from c.1916 to c. 1969 provided working drawings for the construction of the stations (such as Museum and St James), lines, tunnels and roadways in the City Railway. The plans were arranged in an alpha-numerical system. This system included: a number allocated to each section of the City Railway and an alpha-numeric classification for a particular group of plans. A key to the numbers allocated to each section of the City Railway is located in the front of the register. This register is believed to have been compiled between 1958 and 1969, based on information supplied by the State Rail Authority, and cross-referencing map titles and numbers contained in the Register with City Railway maps. According to a document located in the register, Registers to City Railway plans may have been maintained before 1958 and after 1969 but these registers are not in the custody of State Records. The original register in this series (Item 1) is fragile. The State Rail Authority, (or preceding agencies) made a photocopy of the register (Item 2) for reference purposes. Custody History From 1955 until 2000 the State Rail Authority of New South Wales maintained an ‘in house archives’ consisting of the archival records of the Authority, its predecessor agencies and the private railway companies taken over by the government. The date ranges of the records were from 1849 until 2000. When the decision was made to close the ‘State Rail Archives’ the parts of the collection that were required as State archives were transferred to the State Records Authority of NSW. Those record series were incorporated into the State Records series system of archives control and were re-numbered.This series was formerly part of the State Rail Archives collection where it was identified as part of series R120. It may have been viewed in the State Rail Archives as series R120 and could have been previously cited as such in notes by researchers at State Rail Archives or in publications or unpublished works
