RNA sequencing was conducted for Striga hermonthica attachments collected from roots of the rice cultivar, NERICA 7, at 2, 4 or 7 days post infection. In addition, RNAseq was performed on S. hermonthica haustoria induced by DMBQ in vitro. Our aim was to profile gene expression changes for S. hermonthica during early stages of parasitism during the interaction with a susceptible host.
