Recherche, formation et expertise sur des terrains "empêchés" ou "entravés" : enquête auprès des chercheurs en études aréales

The database published here gathers the quantitative data from the survey "Research, training and expertise in "prevented" or "hindered" fields: practices, methods and new resources". The objective was threefold:
• to establish a diagnosis and objectify the analysis of restrictions that are often addressed in an undifferentiated manner, by questioning the experiences and perceptions of researchers regarding the nature and evolution of these restrictions;
• to observe the adaptations already implemented and the needs identified by researchers in response to these situations;
• to formulate recommendations regarding the development of new methods and training, as well as the organization of research and the resources allocated to its management.

The questionnaire was distributed within Inalco from February 2024 onwards, then to the network formed by the area-focused GIS, the UMIFRE, and more than 200 heads of research centers specialized in area studies internationally. The responses to the questionnaire were collected in September 2024. The database includes the responses of the 417 researchers who participated in the survey as of that date.
