STEC were isolated from faeces of ungulates (wild boar and red deer), red fox and otter.The objectives of the present study were: i) investigate the occurrence of STEC in four wild mammal species, ii) determine their antibiotic resistance profile and iii) characterize representative isolates using Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), focusing mainly on virulence factors and pathogenic potential.
