Nature management at Knutshøe

Nature, and protected nature areas in particular, are increasingly attractive for recreation and nature-based activities. This increased attractiveness comes with challenges for nature management authorities, who must balance negative impacts on nature and wildlife while facilitating outdoor recreation. Management of natural areas therefore involves interaction between people and the natural environment, and knowledge of the human dimension is therefore key to successful management of these areas. The survey's aim was to collect quantitative data about how hikers at the Knutshøe trail assess the accommodations, environmental management and attitudes to various challenges related to nature and wildlife.

The survey is associated with a master thesis at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
