HumanRef is a large-scale human-centric referring expression dataset designed for multi-instance human referring in natural scenes. Unlike traditional referring datasets that focus on one-to-one object referring, HumanRef supports referring to multiple individuals simultaneously through natural language descriptions. Key features of HumanRef include: Multi-Instance Referring, Diverse Referring Types, and High-Quality Data. The dataset comprises over 34,000 high-resolution images, with an average of 8.6 persons per image and over 103,000 referring expressions in the training set, and 6,000 curated expressions in the benchmark set.
