Boreal lakes bacterial 16S rRNA gene

This study comprises bacterial 16S rRNA sequences of water column samples collected in Lake 227, a Boreal Shield lake located in northwest Ontario, Canada (within the IISD-Experimental Lakes Area). Lake 227 is a dimictic lake and the bottom waters become anoxic (devoid of O2) during the summer stratified period. During winter, the lake is ice-covered. The goal of the study was to determine the microbial profile of this lakes in summer and winter.
