VPRS 21433 Board Minute Books

This series comprises volumes recording meeting minutes of the Orbost Water Board (VA 2248). Minutes of meetings of Waterworks Trusts and Water and Sewerage Boards were created in accordance with section 212 of the Water Act 1890 (no. 1156) and subsequent legislation including the Water Act 1905 (No. 2016), Water Act 1958 (no. 6413) and Water Act 1989 (No. 80). These Acts required that for each meeting, minutes of all proceedings be recorded together with the names of all commissioners present that voted for and against motions. Often included are the minutes of annual, ordinary and special meetings, and associated business papers.
