资源简介:
U. wallichiana well known plant for the pharmaceutical uses worldwide with the presence of different secondary metabolites including flavonoid c-glucosides. The availability of these phytoconstituents in Ulmus wallichiana from natural sources is quite limited and their chemical synthesis is very tedious and costly process. Therefore, an alternative method for biosynthesis and enrichment of these compounds are required to meet its demand. The biosynthetic pathway for these pharmacological important compounds is not been deciphered till date from Ulmus wallichiana, there are still ambiguities regarding their biosynthesis and accumulation. Metabolomics and Transcriptomics resources can provide an important tool in elucidating a biosynthetic pathway for bioactive compounds in Ulmus wallichiana. Discovery of genes and enzymes involved in bioactive compound metabolism will also play a foundation for as a production platform for these important classes of pharmaceuticals and its development as a source of new drug. Transcriptome sequencing of leaves of U. wallichiana carried out for the mechanism of these secondary metabolite's biosynthesis.
