VPRS 15536 General Magazines and Newsletters

This series consists of magazines and newsletters published by the Education Department and successors. All of the publications in this series were created for the general information of Education Department staff, teachers, school principals and members of School Councils. Most of the publications in this series were maintained and bound by the Ministry of Education Library.This series does not contain magazines produced primarily for students (refer to VPRS 15502), by regional offices of the Department (refer to VPRS 15524) or as curriculum aids for teaching staff (refer to VPRS 15546). This series also does not include the Education Gazette and Teachers Aid (refer to VPRS 15609/P4).Specific publications in this series are:P1 Consignment: The Educational Magazine - a magazine published between 1944 and 1985 for teachers. It contained educational articles, news reports and items of general interest from Australia and overseas. It was published monthly to 1971.P2 Consignment: Interchange - a monthly publication of news, information, and opinion for circulation among officers of the Department. It was published between 1971 and 1984.P3 Consignment: News Exchange - a monthly newsletter published between 1973 and 1985 which sought to keep all educationists informed of what was happening in the various Divisions and Branches of the Department.P4 Consignment: Education Victoria - was published by the Ministry of Education between 1986 and 1990 as a monthly newspaper relating to the operation of schools. It's objective was to function as a single "official document" which brought together for school principals and councils, teachers and school staff all of the information previously incorporated within other magazines, newsletters and memoranda. It therefore effectively merged the other publications in this series into a single publication along with memoranda found within VPRS 1675.P5 Consignment: Copies of most editions of the Information Bulletin produced by the Statistics and Research Section of the Office of Schools Administration between March 1988 and April 1990.
