Cybersecurity Factors

The Cybersecurity Factors dataset provides a novel source of information for all investors, providing value as a risk indicator, ESG indicator and alternative alpha source. This dataset contains a suite of 35 factors that quantify cybersecurity risks to enhance stock and portfolio risk management. S&P Global has partnered with BitSight, the standard in security ratings, to provide asset managers with critical cybersecurity intelligence on organizations worldwide.<br/><br/>This dataset captures cybersecurity risk through a proprietary process, providing quantifiable security ratings. Leverage ratings to assess cyber risk in companies’ ecosystems. Similar to credit ratings (ranging from 250 to 900, with a higher rating indicating better security performance), our approach allows asset managers to gain insight into the security of companies, driving stock selection and risk management decisions.

This dataset includes:

- Key Bitsight rating for global companies, along with measure of changes and volatility in ratings and industry/sector positioning of each company
- Drill down of ratings into different components such as Compromised Systems, Due Diligence metrics, Breach information and User Behavior
