*****These data are preliminary or provisional and are subject to revision. They are being provided to meet the need for timely best science. The data have not received final approval by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and are provided on the condition that neither the USGS nor the U.S. Government shall be held liable for any damages resulting from the authorized or unauthorized use of the data.***** Results described in the paper, "Conserving Stream Fishes with Changing Climate: Assessing Fish Responses to Changes in Habitat Over a Large Region": https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2020.142503. These data describe the climate driven ecological classification for all National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 1 (NHDPlusV1) stream reaches in the Temperate Plains ecoregion. Multivariate Regression Tree methods were used to classify stream reaches into 10 stream classes (A-J) using five climatic measures (i.e., standard deviation of daily precipitation in winter, average minimum temperature in summer, annual median daily precipitation, total precipitation in winter, maximum daily precipitation in winter) and one natural variable (i.e., Watershed Area).
