The dataset aims to give the number of traffic having an accident. This information is given on a three-level gravity scale: accidents with fatalities / accidents with serious injuries / accidents with minor injuries. **Definitions: ** **Taught**: any person on the train, killed instantly or dying within 30 days. **Serious injury**: any person on the train who has been hospitalised for more than 24 hours. **Light injury**: any person on the train who is hospitalised for less than 24 hours or any person who has made a declaration of injury, even if there has been no hospitalisation. These data are taken from the annual Operational Safety Report on the French national rail network. Published each year, this report takes stock of the company’s safety activities and fulfils the information obligation imposed on SNCF under Article 17 of Decree No 2006-1279.
