The NC TraCS Institute continues to accelerate high-impact research and improve health outcomes through clinical and translational science. Grant Year 2 achievements reflect significant progress in innovation, collaboration, and community engagement: Research Support & Reach: Delivered over 2,600 research requests for 1,000+ investigators across UNC and partner institutions, supported 611+ publications, and facilitated 6,887 participant visits in 255 studies. Innovation Funding: Invested in transformative projects through CTS Pilot Grants and Innovation to Impact (i2i) Awards, advancing personalized cancer care, mental health solutions, and biospecimen pipelines. Community Engagement: Engaged 95 of NC’s 100 counties, built a 300-member patient/community network, and attracted 48,000+ individuals interested in research participation. Workforce Development: Trained 13 early-career scholars and hosted 200+ training events for 6,000+ participants, strengthening the translational science pipeline. Impactful Outcomes: Supported FDA approval of a breakthrough food allergy treatment, advanced virtual care research for disaster response, and pioneered innovations in women’s health. Why It Matters: NC TraCS is driving real-world health solutions, fostering statewide collaboration, and building capacity for future innovation—ensuring that discoveries translate into better care for all.
