Pollinator Abundance, Diversity and Richness Data in Avocado Orchards in Chile

This dataset was collected as part of a study examining the role of natural habitats and wild pollinators in avocado production in central Chile. The data were gathered across three commercial avocado orchards over three years and include the following components:<b>Flower visitor surveys</b>: Observational data on the abundance, richness, diversity, and visitation rates of insect flower visitors collected at varying distances from natural habitat and control edges into avocado orchards.<b>Pollination exclusion and hand pollination experiments</b>: Experimental data from controlled pollination trials assessing fruit set in relation to insect pollination and distance to natural habitat.<b>Pollination effectiveness trials</b>: Data on single-visit pollination effectiveness of different insect taxa, including hoverflies, other flies, and honeybees.<b>Pollinator Abundance and Fruit Set:</b> Data on individual pollinator abundance and fruit set.Data are presented in tabular format (e.g., CSV or Excel) and include variables such as insect species or taxon, visitation counts, flower-level treatments, fruit set outcomes, and distance from natural habitat. These data provide insights into how proximity to natural habitat influences insect pollinator communities and their contribution to avocado pollination and yield.
