Transcriptomic characterization of trachea of chickens infected with low pathogenic H7 viruses

Transcriptomic sequencing of tracheal tissue from chickens infected with LP H7 viruses, demonstrating a different ability to evolve their pathotype in the field, was implemented. Our results showed that H7 precursors of HP viruses trigger the host immune response, while, in chickens infected with the H7 strains that did not mutate to the HP phenotype, the majority of differentially expressed genes were involved in metabolic and cellular division processes, with very low involvement of immunity genes.
