TICON-4: TIdal CONstants based on GESLA-4 sea-level records

Sea level observations from tide gauges have long been used to study the variability of ocean tides across the global oceans. Not only have they been a crucial source of understanding, but they are a vital source of validation for our ocean tide models. The TICON-4 is the latest TIdal CONstants dataset (Piccioni et al., 2019) produced at DGFI-TUM based on global tide gauge data from the updated GESLA dataset, GESLA-4 (Haigh et al., 2023, updated, https://www.gesla.org/ ). TICON-4 contains fifty estimated tidal constituents from 4,383 tide gauges distributed globally. The previously produced TICON-3 (Hart-Davis et al., 2022) is not only updated in terms of the number of gauges and constituents, but also in additional data provided, including the tide gauge name, country, record quality, and datum information.
