The objective of this study is to elucidate genes and pathways which could be altering the grain size in rice. For this, transcriptome sequencing of developing T3 grains of RNAi 7AP9 (a homozygous line) transgenic plants, along with wild-type, was performed using the Illumina HiseqTM 2000 platform with two independent biological replicates. qRT PCR validation of transcriptome data was done using SYBR Green. Differentially expressed genes were identified which involved in starch metabolism and hormone signal transduction in rice.
