Genome-wide characterization of laccase gene family in Schizophyllum commune 20R-7-F01, isolated from deep sediment 2 km below the seafloor

Schizophyllum commune 20R-7-F01, isolated from sub-seafloor down to ~2 km below the seafloor can grow in the absence of oxygen with lignite and/or lignin medium. In this study we applied Next-generation technology to analyze the laccase gene expression and determine the mechanism(s) how this fungus deal with the absence of oxygen with lignite and/or lignin medium.
