Share of primary energy production in Latin America 2021, by source

Fossil fuel sources (including petroleum, natural gas, and coal) represented over 70 percent of primary energy production in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2021. Petroleum accounted for some 45 percent of the region's primary energy production. That year, Latin America's primary energy production added up to some 6.47 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
