Assessment of the predominant microbiota in the startup process of a pilot plant

Biogas generated by the anaerobic digestion process is a sustainable alternative for generating bioenergy from agroindustrial and municipal products. Information from the microbiota active in the process expands the possibilities for technological innovation to improve the system. This study aimed to investigate the taxonomic annotation and functional prediction of microbial communities present in the startup process of a pilot plant reactor treating waste from restaurants and customs seizures at Itaipu, Brazil.
