资源简介:
This poll, the only survey fielded June 2012, is a part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicits public opinion on a range of political and social issues. Respondents were asked whether they felt things in the United States were going in the right direction, whether they felt the United States Postal Service (USPS) should close branch offices and/or end Saturday service to help solve its financial problems, how frequently respondents used USPS, and whether they thought USPS did a good job. Multiple questions addressed genetically modified (GM) foods, including respondents' familiarity with GM foods, whether they were concerned about consuming GM foods, what those concerns were, how often they eat GM foods, what kinds of GM food they eat, and whether GM foods should have a label identifying the ingredients as having been genetically modified. Additional topics include beef consumption, global warming, summer leisure activities, and summer meals. Demographic information includes sex, age, race, marital status, education level, household income, employment status, religious preference, type of residential area (e.g., urban or rural), political party affiliation, political philosophy, whether respondents were registered to vote, whether respondents voted in the 2008 presidential election, who they voted for, and whether respondents thought of themselves as born-again Christians.
