Provincial-Level Dataset on New-Type Energy Storage Development in China

This dataset provides provincial-level data used to evaluate the development of new-type energy storage in China. It covers five key dimensions: industrial capacity, policy and planning conditions, technological innovation, environmental responsibility, and international influence. The indicators are constructed from publicly available statistical sources and policy documents, and are designed to support comparative analysis of regional development conditions rather than direct performance ranking.The dataset is structured to reflect differences in development foundations and enabling conditions across provinces. It captures variations in industrial deployment, institutional and market-related environments, innovation capacity, environmental management practices, and external engagement. The data are suitable for composite indicator construction, regional comparison, and applied research on energy planning and policy.This dataset was used to develop a composite evaluation framework integrating entropy-based objective weighting and expert-informed subjective weighting. While the weighting scheme is described in the associated study, the dataset itself can be reused independently for alternative weighting approaches, sensitivity analysis, or comparative studies of energy storage development at the regional level.
