VPRS 9819 Subject Correspondence Files, General Manager (Personnel)

This series contains subject files of the General Manager of the Personnel Department of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV).This correspondence reflects the role and duties of the General Manager (Personnel). Subjects of the correspondence include industrial relations, re-classification of positions, democratisation of work, equal opportunity, redeployment, redundancy, disputes, salary claims, corporate plans and so on. The General Manager (Personnel) was involved with the development of policy and precedent on these and other issues.Further files on these and similar subjects may be found in the Personnel central correspondence files, VPRS 8916 Subject Files: Annual Single Number Sequence (Personnel Department). Comparisons were made between the contents of the two series at the time of transfer. It was found that there was no exact correlation between the series, although some of the same topics are covered in both series. Correspondence in the General Managers files (this series) deals with topics on a general basis while that in VPRS 8916 deals with particular instances.The records in this series appear to be all that remains.
