Metagenomic identification of novel eukaryotic DNA viruses in pheasants

In this study we report the diversity of viruses identified by metagenomics of the intestinal con-tents of dead pheasants. The study provides evidence for infection with diverse viruses, especially those harboring small DNA genomes. This information will be useful to develop diagnostic meth-ods that can be used in routine health assessment and disease surveillance.
