Bacterial 16S rRNA sequencing sediment samples at STA14, Potter Cove, King George Island/Isla 25 de Mayo

Short sediment core was obtained from station 14, core STA14.04, in Potter Cove, King George Island/Isla 25 de Mayo, West Antarctic Peninsula in Austral summer 2019. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze the distribution and abundance of microbial populations in sediments influenced by enhanced glacial input of nutrients such as metal oxides. RNA was extracted from samples in a depth profile. The bacterial community composition was identified by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing on RNA (cDNA) level.
