Rattus norvegicus Transcriptome or Gene expression

In this study, we investigated transcriptional dynamics and gene expression changes during the immediate early phase of neuronal differentiation in rat PC12 cells. To sensitively capture nascent RNA transcripts, including unstable species such as enhancer RNAs (eRNAs), we employed NET-CAGE (Native Elongating Transcript-Cap Analysis of Gene Expression), a high-resolution technique that maps the 5' ends of newly transcribed RNAs.NET-CAGE libraries were generated from PC12 cells treated with nerve growth factor (NGF) or forskolin to induce neuronal differentiation, and sequencing was performed using the Illumina NextSeq 500 platform. These data provide a high-resolution landscape of promoter and enhancer activity during the earliest transcriptional response to differentiation signals in rat neuronal cells.
