Impact of processing and stability on FMT composition

This study systematically evaluates the stability, viability, and global representativeness of faecal microbiota transplant (FMT) preparations from healthy Australian donors. By integrating metagenomics and culturomics, it demonstrates that FMTs retain donor-specific microbiome profiles with minimal processing impact and high recovery of viable bacteria. These findings support improved donor screening, product standardisation, and regulatory frameworks for FMT therapies.
