In conclusion, we sequenced and characterized the transcriptome of faba bean using 454 GS FLX Titanium sequencing technology. The transcriptome sequencing is important for gene discovery of faba bean. These data may be utilized for either basic or applied research in faba bean. Transcriptomes resulted in the identification of large number of informative SSRs and SNPs markers, which provide a set of functional markers and constitute a resource for mapping and marker-assisted breeding in faba bean. This study will aid in the future structural and functional genomics in faba bean.
