资源简介:
This dataset contains dental microwear surfaces on both crushing and shearing molar facets of 12 sampled specimens belonging to two species of Raoellidae (Khirtharia inflata and Metkatius kashmiriensis) and to the cetacean Kalakocetus aurorae from the Eocene of India. The material is housed in the paleontological laboratory of the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Department of Geology, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, India. Here are provided -a list of analyzed specimens -three different files for each specimen: • Plu files: these files are the raw data extracted from the Leica DCM8 “Trident” stored at the PALEVOPRIM lab. These files are named Zinv because scans were made on the molds. • Mnt files with a PDF version: these files include all pre-treatments ran on the Plu files. We batch-applied with a template on the Plu files. In a few cases, we adjusted the settings manually. All changes were saved in the mnt. • Sur files: these files are the final studiables issued the mnt files. This is the data on which we can extract texture parameters. -a template description (Zinv 200x200) in PDF version Each facet was scanned using “TRIDENT”, a Leica DCM8 (Leica Microsystem) white light confocal profilometer housed at the PALEVOPRIM lab (CNRS and University of Poitiers; numerical aperture: 0.90; working distance: 0.9 mm; Leica Microsystems). Scanned surfaces were pre-treated under LeicaMap Premium v. 8.1.1; Leica Microsystems. A 200 × 200 μm (1551 × 1551 pixels) leveled area was automatically generated from each surface and used for Dental Microwear Texture Analysis.
