Rediscovering the Signal Networks in Qing China through a Multidisciplinary Approach

This dataset contains information on the signal network infrastructure of 289 Qing Dynasty cities, including the number of facilities, construction materials, and other attributes. Additionally, it includes 12 high-resolution Qing Dynasty maps, each depicting the signal network layout of a different city. Field investigations using drones identified 15 Qing-era beacon towers and 53 auxiliary beacon sites. Aerial photographs of each site are also included in the dataset.
