Attitude of workers to the strike. Job situation of workers, judgement on the trade union work and attitude to the strike. Topics: Work satisfaction; evaluation of personal job; satisfaction with payment; judgement on company and atmosphere at work; wage form; company employment; overtime; change of shift; membership in a trade union; necessity of trade unions; judgement on the power of trade unions and their most important tasks; judgement on task fulfillment of trade unions; responsibility of trade unions for political questions; judgement about trade union functionaries; judgement on the work of the works council; trade union representatives at work; assessment of the future of workers; judgement on equal opportunities and the structure of society in the FRG; attitude to the student unrest; political interest. The following additional questions were posed in companies on strike: personal participation in the strike; reasons for the strike; strike example from other companies; conduct of relevant groups in the strike; personal conduct in the strike; judgement on strike result and lessons for the future; recommendations for future wage policies; willingness to strike even with spontaneous strikes; reactions to red flags. The following additional questions were posed in companies not on strike: familiarity of the reasons for the strike; judgement on the conduct of the Federal Government, the press and the trade unions; assessment of strike result; effects of the strike on one´s own company and on society in general; assessment of the probability of renewed spontaneous strikes. Demography: age (classified); marital status; number of children; school education; vocational training; income; interest in politics; social origins; present and past offices held; memberships. Interviewer rating: interest of respondent in interview; assessment of the capability to give an opinion and willingness of respondent to cooperate; particular difficulties with the interview; presence of other persons; length of interview; date of interview; place of interview. Also encoded was: identification of interviewer.
