Disclosed is arrangement (100) for capturing image of a log; arrangement (100) comprising first housing structure (102) comprising at least two end walls (202)， (204) and at least one side wall (206)， wherein the at least one side wall (206) include at least one opening (210); second holding structure (104) arranged within first housing structure (102) wherein second holding structure (104) holds at least one imaging device (106) for capturing at least one image of planar surface (304) of log (302); first controlling unit (108) attached to first housing structure (102) and operatively coupled to second holding structure (104) for moving second holding structure (104) from first position to second position， wherein at second position at least one imaging device (106) is positioned axially on at least one opening (210); and second controlling unit (110) is operatively coupled to at least one imaging device (106) and is configured to instruct at least one imaging device (106) to capture after positioning axially at least one image of planar surface (304) of log (302).
