Association between genetic indexes and the incidence of claw horn lesions and lameness in Holstein cows

Logistic regression models were fit for four outcomes: sole haemorrhage, sole ulcer, white line disease, and lameness. Explanatory variables were parity and herd in addition to each published predicted transmitting ability (PTA) for dairy cows in the UK. Each PTA was fit in separate models, after being scaled to have a unit of one standard deviation. Results are presented at odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals.
