📝 Dataset Publication: Detailed Pokémon Characteristics (Wikidex Scrape)

This repository presents a comprehensive dataset extracted via web scraping from the popular Spanish Pokémon encyclopedia, Wikidex. The goal is to provide a structured and complete collection of the technical and biographical data for various Pokémon species, suitable for data analysis, data science research, and machine learning projects.

The dataset includes the following key fields for each Pokémon:

Identifiers and Biology: Name, Description, Generation, Category, Color, Weight, Height, and Sex (gender ratio).

Combat and Abilities: Type (elemental type), Ability, and Base Stats (HP, Attack, Defense, etc., including Total).

Multimedia and Structure: Direct links to the Pokémon's main Image and its Cry (characteristic sound), as well as the detailed Evolutions chain.

Data Collection Methodology

The data was collected using a custom web scraping solution implemented in Python with the Selenium WebDriver library. The process simulated user navigation through the Pokédex structure, ensuring precise extraction of structured information tables and complex data such as evolution lines.

This methodology guarantees the fidelity of the information relative to the original source at the time of extraction.
