DISTRIBUCIÓN Y ESTIMACIÓN DEL TAMAÑO DE LA POBLACIÓN A PARTIR DE LA DENSIDAD

To study the spatial distribution of individuals in a population, it is necessary to keep in mind the space conditions habitable by the organisms, since according to this two behaviors can be observed:
a) When organisms are confined to specific habitable sites, for example, caterpillars on a plant stem, ectoparasitic mites on the body of a host, terrestrial isopods under stones or fallen logs, etc., the space is said to be habitable is DISCONTINUOUS or DISCRETE (Maciel-Mata et al., 2015).
b) When the entire habitat offers appropriate conditions for the presence of organisms, for example, edaphic micro arthropods, plankton in fresh water, rodents in a grassland, etc., the habitable space is considered CONTINUOUS (Maciel-Mata et al., 2015).
This data set helps to know the type of distribution by estimating the size of two simulated populations, uses quadrants, statistical tests, and extrapolation of results to determine the distribution of organisms and evaluate the estimation of population size as an analysis tool in ecological restoration.
