The Offer of Conciliation Policies in the Reborning Right-Wing Era: The Case of Italy and Portugal

The intention of this paper is to investigate the influence of the transfer of votes from left-wing parties to right-wing parties in Portugal and Italy, on the offer of family work-life balance policies from the left-wing, priorly. The electoral programmes of left-wing (PS and PD) and right-wing (PSD/AD and Lega/FdI) parties in successive elections are analyzed in order to observe the differences in work-life balance policy, through the elaboration of the Index on Work-Life Balance (IWLB). However, this dataset has its limits and calls for longitudinal analysis in future research for more robust conclusions about the relation. Note that original dataset is in Spanish.
