Comparative Genomics of Ciliates

This project focuses on comparative genomics of Trichostomatia and Peritrichia ciliates (Ciliophora) and aims to elucidate the genetic bases underlying adaptation of ciliates to diverse environmental conditions. By functional genomic analyses, we investigate lineage-specific gene repertoires, metabolic pathways, and adaptive traits associated with contrasting habitats. The project combines newly generated genomes with publicly available datasets to provide a comprehensive framework for exploring evolutionary diversification in ciliates.
