Riverine organic carbon of three Southeast Alaska watersheds, 2013.

Organic carbon leaving three watersheds in coastal Southeast Alaska, USA that vary in their relative amount of glacier cover was measured to understand how glacier shrinkage will impact the amount and type of organic carbon in rivers. In 2013, streamwater samples were collected 2-3 times per week across the full glacier melt season (May to October) from three watersheds adjacent to the Juneau Icefield: Cowee Creek, Herbert River, and Peterson Creek. Data include daily runoff, dissolved organic carbon (DOC) yield, particulate organic carbon (POC) yield, suspended sediment yield, δ13C-POC, and daily mean discharge from each of the three study catchments.
